what CD should I get?

I saw Cheb i Sabbah for the first time last night at Temple Bar and am totally amazed. Im trying to figure out what CD/tracks I should get...it seems like some of his music is more N African. Im looking for a CD that has that Goa Indian vibe. I just loved it!!!

His 2 newest albums are N. African rooted, but have a great gobal sound. I highly recoommend La Ghiba, the remix album of La Kahena.

Krishna Lila in amazing and and south asian rooted. There are some beautiful sounds on that album.

From what you are describing, I think Maha Maya might be the album to get. It has some awesome remixes from his first album, Shri Durga.

Oh, and there is As Far As. All of the other albums are Cheb i Sabbah's original tracks whereas As Far As is a DJ mix, more like what you would hear him playing in a club. Although he's always playing new stuff. I wouldn;t say his albums represent exactly what he plays at shows, but they are definaely worth getting and will expose you to another side to heb i Sabbah's brilliance.

I think you can listen to sound clips from his albums at www.sixdegreesrecords.com
If not, you can always check em out in i tunes and take a listen before you decide.
I have all his albums an can't say one is beeter than the other. They all have a wonderful sound and vibe and are uniquely different from one another.

Shri Durga is my favorite :-) I agree, listening to iTunes samples is a good way to get the general vibe (even if you don't buy it there).
