The show rakk'd so hard! Chebiji with Pree & Salar & Unmata & Binah--temperature on the white marble dancefloor of Temple was at least 90 degrees!

Props to the other DJs throwing it down in the basement as well--Amar (+ Mitara), Dragonfly, Janaka & Bobby Friction--I danced nonstop for four and a half hours!

                See y'all next time :D

                  yeah......not so cool.
i stood in line for over an hour and a half, never to even be let in.

                  it sucked.

OMG you guys, I am so sorry to hear that KaliKat and Chlorophil :(

Micsto and I walked down from the W just before 10 after a whole day in the beautiful weather with SF friends (so good to run into you at YBCA Chlorophil!) and were greeted with the sight of the line snaking back to the parking lot.

A half hour went by and some guy who looked like club staff started loudly muttering on the walkie talkie as to how not everybody waiting would make it inside, and I thought, scheisse--it is gonna suck big time if the two of us did not make it in cuz we both flew 5 hours to SF for this event! Had we known it was gonna be like Miami, we woulda been there at 9, but we already had a full day committed with local artist-friends (including dinner in the Haight) who incidentally were in the guest list line by virtue of their record label. It's funny cuz I scoped out the venue the day before and had lunch and dinner there and it was very zen and all, totally did not anticipate the stress of the night.

After a full hour and conversation with some people in the queue who said the venue capacity was 2.500, we felt somewhat reassured altho waiting for an hour still had us pretty p-o'd when we entered Temple. I must say making it inside and being able to watch the artists performance was redeeming. I feel really bad for folks who did not make it in after waiting more than an hour :( I know if we had not made it, I woulda thrown a hissyfit in French right there and then. Chlorophil, I was really hoping to see you again at the night event, but am grateful we got a chance to connect at YBCA.

The topic of conversation during the hour-long wait: why was there no pre-sale? Being that the venue reached capacity means they musta taken 2000 direct payments at the door. I know it's mercury retrograde and all, but the factors that led to this outcome must seriously be revisited.

well if there were no presale then how were people walking in from the other line. they were not ALL guests, were they? the line i was in was creeping, while people were walking in freely on the other side. if it was all guests of the artists, they should have just made it a private party.

i drove an hour and a half there, waited for an hour and a half, then finally walked to some crappy dive to have a drink and then drove an hour and a half home.
oh yeah, and paid $20 parking for all that waiting.
                      it was so disappointing.

As we approached the door, we did notice a very short line running parallel next to us, in addition to the guest list line on the other side (we were lined up against the wall on the left of the club) which was practically going in the fastest. The folks in front of us inquired and found out these were people who had reserved tables, some sort of VIP bottle service.

When I went for dinner the previous nite, I was told if I came in for dinner, say around 9 pm, I could stay on for the club events without paying any additional cover. I considered doing this, but we had already committed to dinner with our local friends.

I know I would've been very upset indeed to have been in your shoes, KaliKat.
